“Art Car” Hillman Minx BJ 1936 by the artist Marie de Gea

The highlight of the event on June 8th, 2023 in the Cavallo in Hanover is the auction of a "Hillman Minx built in 1936" vintage car, which was designed as an "Art Car" by the artist Marie de Gea.

The proceeds from the auction will go to the children's charity ICH eV for the Night Angel project and to the City of Hanover's "bed by night" initiative, which supports street children.

The 1936 Hillman Minx was purchased as a "Peace Messenger" and then completed by artist Marie de Gea in 2022 and 2023.

Marie de Gea lovingly stripped the vehicle of paint down to the steel body. She worked the sheet metal by hand for six weeks, sanded off the black paint and created a work of art out of the vintage Hillman Minx. The Hillman was specially redesigned by Marie using the "Steelart Etching Technique". Now the car appears as a total work of art in ever new facets and one or the other color seems to stand out from the rust-steel etching. The ART CAR is particularly beautiful in bright light with an explosion of fantasy images that can be made out on the surfaces.

The ART CAR has an estimated price of 20,000 euros (the market price in the UK alone is 15,000 pounds). Marie hopes that it will remain in good hands as a "peace ambassador" and that many people will enjoy it.
